Artists’ handmade paper, made in Nepal. This quality artist tsasho paper is made from the bast fibre of lokta, which is sourced from the high altitude forests of the Himalayas.
The paper is made in the traditional Nepalese way of using bamboo moulds. The mould is then left in the blazing Nepalese sun to dry naturally, imparting a slightly textured laid pattern throughout the fine crisp paper. The paper is manufactured using soda ash, which breaks down the lignin in the plant allowing the fibres to separate, resulting in a robust and durable paper ideal for drawing in ink, calligraphy, printmaking and bookbinding.
This versatile paper can also be used for crafting, collaging, letter-writing and other art projects.
